See the Person (formerly known as Benefit to Society) is a national, tenant-led campaign. It challenges the negative stereotypes of social housing in the media.
New research on overcoming the stigma of social housing was launched at the Houses of Parliament in February 2018. Our tenants Richard and Mo contributed to Fair Press for Tenants, a national guide for journalists.
In March 2020 a focus group of Broadland tenants shared their ideas and opinions for a new ‘See The Person’ toolkit, focusing on how housing associations and their staff perpetuate stigma, and some positive changes they could make.
As a sponsor of See the Person, we’re highlighting the positive value that tenants add to society. ‘A conversation with…’ is our series of Broadland staff talks, featuring the amazing lives of the people who live in our properties.
