North Repps eco homes - architect image

    Northrepps

Our new development at Northrepps has been completed, comprising of 19 operationally net zero homes after an 18-month project.

The 19 new homes were designed by architects Ingleton Wood and built by Norwich-based contractor Smith of Honingham.

    Energy-Efficient Features

These new homes are designed to be highly energy-efficient, featuring insulated timber frames, triple-glazed windows, air source heat pumps, and mechanical ventilation systems with heat recovery. Solar panels on the roofs are expected to generate enough electricity to cover the average annual use of each home.

    The scheme comprises of:

    • 8 Affordable Rent
    • 2 Shared Ownership
    • 9 Open Market

    New Tenants in Northrepps

Our first tenants have recently moved into their new home!

    Canary Quay – Final Phase

    August 25, 2021

    Canary Quay – Final Phase

Located on the banks of the River Wensum, Canary Quay is Norwich’s latest and most exciting riverside development. This mixed-use project offers a range of one and two-bedroom apartments, perfect for those seeking contemporary city living.

    Social rent

Featuring four unique buildings, the development is designed to provide modern and stylish living spaces. The development provides a total of 323 apartments, many of which offer stunning views of the River Wensum. Residents can enjoy the blend of peaceful seclusion and vibrant city life.

The scheme is mixed tenure as follows:

    • Phase 1 – 60 social rented
    • Phase 2 – 89 apartments (55 open market & 34 intermediate rent)
    • Phase 3 – 73 social rented
    • Phase 4 – 101 shared ownership

Read more about the background to this scheme.

    Broadland St Benedicts

Formed in 2006, Broadland St Benedicts is the open market housing subsidiary of Broadland Housing Group. Its mission is to generate additional funding to support the Group’s efforts in developing affordable housing across Norfolk and Suffolk.

The company’s ethos centres around creating mixed tenure housing that balances community needs, enriching and reflecting the local environment. Each development is uniquely designed by Norfolk architects who have a deep understanding of the local context, ensuring that the new homes harmonise with their surroundings.

Headquartered in Norwich, Broadland St Benedicts partners with some of the best contractors in Norfolk to construct and deliver high-quality developments. The company is particularly enthusiastic about the new Canary Quay site, designed by the renowned architect Ingleton Wood.

    Great Hockham

    February 24, 2020

We worked in partnership with Great Hockham Parish Council and Breckland Council to deliver an inclusive housing development in Great Hockham. The new scheme includes homes for local needs, affordable rent, shared ownership and market sale.

Take a quick flythrough of our new scheme at Great Hockham in Norfolk.

The levels of public subsidy currently available do not cover the costs of developing the affordable rent homes. The market sale properties are included to generate surplus and top up the amount of funding required.

    Great Hockham

    Scheme Design

The scheme has been designed in two parts. A combination of terraced, semi-detached and detached homes at the entrance of the scheme will appear like a natural extension to the village. These homes are focused around an attractively design central space containing the surface water drainage basin. To the west, the design will appear more like a traditional agricultural holding, with a farmhouse and converted farm buildings, to sit sensitively in the wider landscape.

We undertook a housing needs survey in the area that identified local demand for affordable rent, shared ownership and market sale homes. This was used to decide which properties to develop. The affordable rent and shared ownership homes will be prioritised for people in housing need with a local connection, in accordance with the council’s housing allocation policy.

    We delievered:

    • 6 x Affordable Rent
    • 2 x Shared Ownership
    • 4 x Market Sale

    Great Ryburgh

    August 10, 2018

Housden Court in Great Ryburgh was completed in 2018. It consists of 5 homes, all for affordable rent: a one bedroom bungalow and 4 (1 bedroom and 2 bedroom) houses.

The Great Ryburgh development has a real community feel. The design of the homes are specific to the village, and the intentional green space provides plenty of opportunities for neighbours to interact.

The scheme is named after Andrew Housden, a popular local quantity surveyor who died in 2010.

    Trunch

    August 9, 2018

Our 18 new homes in Fullers Lane, Trunch, were completed in two phases in 2018-19.  The scheme is mixed tenure, with both affordable and shared ownership homes and a mixture of bungalows and houses.

The design of the scheme reflects its rural community. There are lots of open spaces, which give a real community feel to the scheme and ensure plenty of room for families and neighbours.
