To get your rent money on Universal Credit, you will have to verify your housing costs.
When you apply, you must input the exact amount of your Broadland rent (pounds and pence) in the Universal Credit online journal. You will not be paid until you do this.
Check your latest rent statement or contact the rent team to get this figure.
Important! The rent amount must be exact – being out by a few pence will invalidate your claim. If you do not put in your rent amount correctly, it will delay your first Universal Credit payment. Some tenants have got into significant debt as a result.
Please remember that if you are in rent arrears, the amount you pay each month is more than your normal rent.
