Tower Place, King’s Lynn
Eight affordable homes have been completed at Tower Place in King’s Lynn, transforming an underused commercial building into energy-efficient flats available for social rent.
About the Development
Working in partnership with Homes England, King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council, and local developer Dwellings4U, we have transformed an existing commercial building at Tower Place into eight affordable homes.
The innovative development has made use of the building’s existing structure, converting former office space on the first floor into four flats and adding a new timber-framed second floor to create four more.
The completed scheme brings much needed affordable housing into the heart of King’s Lynn, making better use of an existing building rather than relying entirely on new-build development.
Energy-efficient Homes
All eight flats have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of B, helping to support energy-efficient living.
By adapting the existing building and adding a lightweight timber-framed floor, the project has demonstrated an innovative approach to creating new homes within an established town centre.
Working in Partnership
Tower Place demonstrates how creative design and partnership working can bring underused buildings back into use, increase the supply of affordable homes and make better use of existing town-centre spaces.
