About Broadland
Broadland Housing Association was formed in 1963 and we built our first scheme, at Shipfield in Norwich, in 1967. Today we provide more than 5,000 quality homes across Norfolk and north Suffolk.
We believe everyone should have a home that meets their needs. Our growing range of properties includes everything from family homes and modern apartments, right through to sheltered housing and housing with care homes.
But we do more than simply build houses. At the end of the day, our business is about people, helping to create thriving neighbourhoods and communities.
This commitment means offering a caring, effective and high-quality service that’s fair to everyone. We’re continually looking at ways to deliver improvements in our services, right across the board.
We want to continue building great living environments – where our tenants have real choice and real control.
Regulator for Social Housing – our statement
The Regulator for Social Housing’s new Consumer standards came into effect on 1 April 2024. Broadland have been working to ensure that we are compliant with the new standards, but recognise that there are areas that we want to improve and strengthen. Ensuring that our tenants have a safe and secure home to live in is at the heart of our mission.
The areas we are going to be working to improve by 31st July 2024 are:
- Improving the information we share with you about your home and neighbourhood and the services you receive. Ensuring this information is accessible to all residents and you can scrutinise it and hold us to account.
- Improving our response times to complaints and achieving compliance with the Housing Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code.
- Improving the way we identify and record when residents need reasonable adjustments from our service.
- Review the way residents can engage and be involved with Broadland. Ensure this information is accessible and residents have a clear understanding of how they can get involved and scrutinise our services.
- Our July edition of Door to Door magazine will provide more information about the Consumer Standards and what actions we taking to improve in these areas. We will also be publishing the results of the Tenant Satisfaction Measures and update you on what we have done in response to your feedback.
