The Five Ways to Wellbeing are a good way to look after your mental health.
Extra support
Sometimes, we need a little extra help. If you are struggling with your mental health, you may wish to talk to your doctor, a counsellor or a therapist, who are trained to support you. You can also self-refer to the Wellbeing Service.
Your doctor may prescribe you some medication or refer you for talking therapy, such as:
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) – a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave
- Counselling – a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues
- Mindfulness – an approach that involves staying in the present moment, which can help people to manage stress, anxiety and depression.
