Broadland Housing Association, with North Norfolk District Council, is proposing to develop 2 small mixed-tenure exception housing schemes in West Beckham, Norfolk. This will create 10 new homes at Church Road and Sheringham Road.

A community consultation took place at St Helen and All Saints Church, on Thursday 12 May, 3.00pm – 7.00pm.
The online questionnaire is now closed. We will update local residents when the planning application is submitted.
What is meant by affordable housing?
Affordable housing includes:
- affordable rent (rents capped at the Local Housing Allowance)
- low-cost home ownership, with initial purchase from 10% equity shares.
With limited public funding for affordable housing, Broadland Housing Association has developed a mixed-tenure model. Surplus from the sale of market homes helps to subsidise the delivery of affordable homes to an appropriate design and quality standard for the area.
Affordable homes on this scheme will be available for households in housing need, and prioritised for those with a strong local connection to the parish or adjoining parishes. See more information by clicking on the black buttons below.
Church Road, West Beckham
We are proposing a small scheme of 4 x 2-storey family houses at Church Road. The Planning Department has requested an area of open space for amenity and surface water drainage at the front of the site. This is to reduce the impact on the setting of St Helen and All Saints Church. The open space would be linked to the existing play area.
Sheringham Road, West Beckham
We propose a small scheme of 6 x 1- and 2-bedroom bungalows at Sheringham Road, arranged around a courtyard in the style of a converted farmyard. The Planning Department has requested single-storey properties to reduce the impact on the landscape.
An area of open space for amenity and surface water drainage to the south would reduce the impact on the views from existing properties along Back Lane. We propose an informal footpath for users of the public right of way through the new courtyard. This would allow the community to interact and provide a safer route to the seat and footpath map on Sheringham Road, at the junction with Allotment Lane.
