Broadland has a zero tolerance approach to domestic abuse. We support tenants and staff affected by domestic abuse, in partnership with local councils, charities and other partners.
DAHA accreditation
We are currently working towards Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) accreditation. DAHA accreditation is the UK benchmark for how housing providers should respond to domestic abuse in the UK. The framework is recognised in the government’s Ending Violence against Women and Girls Strategy.
By seeking DAHA accreditation, we are ensuring we deliver safe and effective responses to domestic abuse, which adequately address the needs of survivors and hold abusers to account.
In the meantime, we already support tenants and staff with:
- Policy and procedures to support tenants who are affected by domestic abuse.
- Information on our website/social media/offices about national and local domestic abuse support services available, for easy accessibility.
- 4 x Domestic Abuse Champions, including senior managers, who actively promote resources and support available to tenants/staff.
